What Makes Outch Different?

With so many CBD products on the market, we thought it would be beneficial to address why we’re different. Brian Bowen, our founder, is an acupuncturist and a Chinese herbalist with over 20 years of experience in the field. He is in the business of alleviating pain; a body engineer if you will. He developed Outch using a Chinese recipe that is thousands of years old. We’re a big proponent of starting with the least invasive therapies first, and Outch is a great place to start.

Our Chinese herbs were chosen because of their abilities to move Qi and blood, increase microcirculation, heat clearing and inflammation reduction. Here is a brief explanation of what you can find in Outch:

  • Ginseng (Ren Shen) is said to tonify the Source Qi. It is believed to boost energy, improve micro circulation, reduce stress and promote relaxation.

  • Achyranthis Bidentatae (Huai Niu Xi) is said to have the “healing power of a bull.” It is often prescribed to unblock collaterals and activate blood, and traditionally used for arthritis.

  • Clematis Chinensis (Wei Ling Xian) is best known for its use to treat rheumatoid arthritis and inflammation.

  • Ligusticum Chuanxiong (Chuan Xiong) is one of the most popular herbs in Chinese medicine, known for its warming properties. It promotes blood and Qi circulation; eliminates external wind; relieves pain; moves Qi upward. It is traditionally prescribed for inflammation after injury.

  • Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Gan Cao) or liquorice root is known to reduce itching, swelling and redness when applied topically. It replenishes Qi and is used for many inflammatory conditions.

  • Commiphora Myrrha (Mo Yao) is known for its blood moving powers and its ability to purge stagnant blood. It is often used to bruises, aches and sprains.

  • Aconitum Napellus (Fu Zi) was once thought by Chinese healers to be so strong it could even resurrect the dead. Today it is used to suppress inflammation, reduce pain and detoxify the body.

  • Camphor and Menthol can both be found in our roll-on to create that cooling sensation that some people are used to feeling with over the counter pain lotions.

  • CBD. The oldest known reference to Huo Ma Ren, or hemp seed, is 2700 BC so it’s only natural that we would consider CBD oil a great addition to our ingredients. Its female and male plants have both yin and yang properties and is used for pain reduction.

We use a CO2 extraction process for the herbs to ensure the highest quality concentration for maximum effectiveness. After our small batch process is complete, final product contains an effective formula of remarkable character, enriched with clinical potency that the ancient medical masters intended.
